🛠 Community Builder

Community is everything. I've been involved in several different communities over the years, where my goal as a leader is to cultivate a space for others to connect, collaborate and learn from each other.

Key Contributions

  • March 2016: Introducing CFG students to the hackathon opens in new window scene and the wider Women in Tech community.
  • Feb 2017: Collaboration with HackSheffield opens in new window to take over 20 CFG students opens in new window to the InspireWIT conference.
  • April 2018: Efforts in organising #HackMed18 saw an increase in attendance of women (47%) and students from different backgrounds including Humanities, Finance and Arts.
  • March 2019: For International Women's Day, I organised an event at the BT office in Leeds with local Yorkshire speakers in the tech community which was shared and highlighted by BT Consumer's CEO, Marc Allera. opens in new window
  • April 2021: On launch day of Ladies in DevOps, we had 150 community members join organically through social media platforms. We now have a growing community of over 500+ members and some exciting partnerships and sponsorships to help women advance in their careers!
  • July 2022: In a year, I 10x'ed our Gitpod Community (from 500 to 5,000 members), launched a Community Heroes programme (now with 30+ ambassadors across the world) and several community initiatives to bring our superfans together.

💻 Enthusiastic Techie

I began learning to code for fun when I was 8 years old. I formed a hobby of building websites opens in new window which carries on to this day - continuing to bring my ideas to life by playing around with pixels on the internet.

Taking my love for technology and learning further, I took to the Clouds and became AWS Certified as a Cloud Practitioner opens in new window (November 2019) and Solutions Architect Associate opens in new window (December 2020)

Recently, I've dipped my toes into Kubernetes and the Cloud Native Ecosystem. In December 2021, I cleared the KCNA certificate. opens in new window
